Our teenage ministry continues to develop toward a successful goal of helping teens set their personal boundaries while exploring self-evaluations based on John 17:20-21 20"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me?” One can see the “light bulb” moment when teenagers learn just how relevant Jesus’ message is to their life in the urban culture. We are blessed to be part of such an event.

Response to our bus routes has been exceptional this year. The enthusiasm of both workers and students has been reassuring to our staff. The inner city teenagers are stepping up and taking charge of the routes in their community which is a very positive growth that benefits both the community and the teens themselves. Not to mention just how good it is for our city.

The August 2009 report from Metropolitan Police on Juvenile recidivism of criminal behavior over the last twelve months states 827 juveniles were arrested. Of this number, 84% have been previously arrested for any offense.

Having our youth involved keeps them off of the streets and also prepares them in areas of leadership, goal setting, and community involvement. Faith based ministry works keeping juvenile’s out of jail. Nashville is getting a good return on our investment.
